Korean Language Training Launched at RTC 02
The Philippines and the Korean government entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with commitment to train prospective workers for Korea. Korean language training is given to participants for free. The training started last August 4, 2008 and is expected to be finished on September 5, 2008. This training is subsidized by the PGMA Training for Work Scholarhsip Program and conducted directly by Korean Volunteer Sang-A Kim. Series of programs will be conducted eithin a period of two years.
CEZA and TESDA RO02 signs MOA; opens door for more skilled workers in the Zone.
The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), a government owned and controlled corporation and existing in accordance with laws of the Republic of the Philippines represented by its Senior Deputy Administrator NILO A. ALDEGUER and the TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (TESDA) represented by OIC Regional Director Felisa A. CARAG had signed Memorandum of Agreement on August 19, 2008, 10:00 a.m at Hotel Roma, Tuguegarao City.
TESDA Sponsors Skills Competition for Disabled Women
Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. In support to the program of persons with Disabilities, TESDA sponsored skills competition for disabled women held at the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) last July 17, 2008. There were three (3) trade areas for competition such as Waste Re-use, Flower arrangement and Embroidery. The competition is a mechanism to boost the morale and skills of women with disabilities as mentioned by Christopher Joseph Abriam, PWD Canteen Manager who spearheaded the activity.
CICT Commissioner Ramon Ibrahim Graces Regional TVET Forum
Part of the activities is the conduct of TVET Forum in the region to elicit TVET issues and concerns as basis in the formulation of TVET policy that will improve and enhance TVET delivery in Region 2.
Ma. Eden B. Saquing
Ma. Eden B. Saquing is a 25-year old lady from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. She was a college dropout. However, she took the English language pre-training assessment ProSpeak7 at TESDA Cagayan Provincial Office on 15 February 2007 where she got a proficiency score of 62, making her a near-hire in the call center job. This entitled her to a scholarship grant for training in the 100-Hour Finishing Course for Call Center Agents under the PGMA Training for Work Scholarship Program (PGMA-TWSP).
